Pineapple Express Hell

Yippee...The "Pineapple Express" has arrived in Seattle, bringing rain storms and flooding to all the little boys and girls of the Pacific Northwest. Apparently I've been naughty this year considering the weather has been my main deterrent from leaving the comfortable confines of my cozy if somewhat cluttered apartment. It's been snowing here, though mostly in Bellingham, my weekend destination one hour north. My visit this weekend, however, did not involve snow but rather sheets of rain. The drive home at 7pm constituted me maneuvering my piece-of-shit-two-door-stick-shift-car between three semi-trucks on the darkened two lane freeway. Never intimidated by size, I attempted to pass all three only to wind up trapped between what can only be described as the trucker reckless endanderment race from hell. Rain coated my windsheild as the three trucks swerving around me threatened to steer me blindly off the paved path into a wall of pine trees surrounding the highway...

If you're wondering whether or not I did in fact survive such a spectacle, well then you're retarded.

The "Pineapple Express" season has also blessed Northwest residents with hail storms followed by rain showers followed by sleet followed by snow followed by more rain mixed with 30 mph winds...have I mentioned I love living here?

Actually, when all is said and done, I don't mind the rain that much. How can I? I live in a state where it rains 9 months out of the year. I took a stroll in the rain last night with the boyfriend and it was actually quite fun, though we were soaked head to toe by the time we reached a small teriyaki restaurant several blocks from his apartment. Although no semi trucks threatened to run us off the sidewalk that evening, we did have several run-ins with some rather frightening looking puddles.
