So finally

Just would like to point out it is great to finally not have to carry the burden/load of this website content-wise. Secondly, if anyone would like to get my a fabulously present please either get me tickets to TGUK's final concert tour (along with plane tickets) and/or Weezer's Good Life - Oz EP. THANKS ;-) CHEERS

Where have I been?

Well, that is a damn good question. In fact, I've been working as an intern for Alaska Airlines Magazine, where I call people up all day and make them feel special by reading outloud, line-by-line, articles which feature their very interesting and profound life stories. Last week it was golfing, chuck-wagon racing, and fishing. This week it's hot-air ballooning and businesses in southern Oregon. Yeah, it’s an amazingly entertaining and stimulating job. On the upside (in case you really thought that was the upside) I write short articles for the magazine (I have six under my belt thus far) and I get to work on Mac Computers....Oh wait. Yeah, that last one wasn't an upside.

Otherwise, I have senioritis and I am skipping even my favorite classes more frequently and turning in poor quality work. I suppose this will drop my cumulative to around a 3.69 (as opposed to the 3.73 it is now), but I guess I'll have to live with that disappointment.

I'm also looking for a job. The aforementioned one is a 3-month internship. Lotsa fun packed into a 12-week intensive ride. So what to do as a post-grad? Well, since the journalism profession is a miserable combination of the good ol' boy tradition and a squatter’s game, I have probably a slight chance in hell of landing a job. Everyone who works as a journalist, in one way or another, got there through connections and stays there for fear of never finding another position. I'm still freelancing for Real Change News (and by free, I would be referring to the literal connotation). Maybe that will turn into something if one of the staff reporters dies. Hey, accidents happen.

In the mean time, it looks like it is receptionist work for me. And for those of you who know me well, I just love answering phones, filing papers, and providing excellent customer service so this should be oodles of fun for me. I know when I last worked as a receptionist I went home with a feeling of pride, knowing I was doing a job that no one else could do....well, save for a highly trained monkey or a 60-year-old woman. Man it feels good to be appreciated.

So I'm graduating in a month from today. And then who knows. In the mean time, I will try to post more provocative material as it comes to my attention...
